This Privacy Policy applies to the Pulse Internet Speed Test app (the "App"), developed and operated by Capware LLC ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the App you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
Test history (stored locally only). Every speed test result — including download speed, upload speed, ping, jitter, and your detected ISP name — is saved on your device using iOS UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
ISP detection. When a test completes, the App makes a request to a third-party service (ipwho.is) to identify your internet service provider. This request uses your device's IP address. We do not control ipwho.is and encourage you to review their privacy policy. The ISP name returned is stored only on your device.
Speed test traffic. The App connects to Capware's testing servers (hosted on Google Cloud Run) to conduct download and upload measurements. These connections transmit synthetic data only — no personal information — and are used solely to measure your connection speed. We do not log IP addresses or associate test sessions with individuals.
Information We Do Not Collect
- No account registration or login is required
- No advertising identifiers or analytics SDKs are used
- No personal information (name, email, phone) is collected
- No precise location data is collected
- No data is shared with third-party advertisers
Third-Party Services
The App uses the following external services:
- ipwho.is — ISP lookup
- Google Cloud Run — speed test backend infrastructure
- Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) — unloaded latency measurement
Each of these services may receive your IP address as a result of normal network requests. We do not combine this data with any personally identifying information.
Data Retention
Test history is stored locally on your device and retained until you delete it within the App (Settings → Delete All Test Data) or uninstall the App. We retain no server-side records of your test results.
Children
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used the App, please contact us.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated effective date on this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
